Building America’s Magnesium Future in Southwest ArkansasAt Magrathea, we are taking the next step in our mission to rebuild a clean, secure magnesium metal supply chain in the United States. Our planned joint venture with TETRA Technologies will anchor that effort in Southwest Arkansas, at TETRA’s Evergreen Project site.
Why ArkansasArkansas sits on one of the world’s most attractive brine resources - rich in bromine, lithium, and magnesium. TETRA’s Evergreen Project is already under construction to produce 75,000,000 pounds of bromine annually starting in 2027, with plans to extract and monetize additional critical minerals from the same resource. It is an ideal location for a modern magnesium metal facility: access to world-class brine chemistry, existing industrial infrastructure, and strong state support for critical-minerals development.
Our Partnership With TETRAMagrathea and TETRA have signed a term sheet outlining a joint venture to deploy Magrathea’s next-generation electrolytic magnesium technology on-site at the Evergreen Project. The partnership combines Magrathea’s process innovation with TETRA’s operational expertise, global footprint, and large mineral acreage in Southwest Arkansas. Together, we aim to build a domestic magnesium supply chain that strengthens both the economy and national security.
Commercial Phase 1: On-Site in ArkansasOur next step is building our Commercial Phase 1 plant, supported by the U.S. Department of War. Commercial Phase 1 will demonstrate clean, U.S.-made magnesium metal from brine at commercial scale. It will provide the foundation for expansion to Commercial Phase 2 which will fully eliminate foreign supply control over the country’s magnesium defense industrial base.
Looking AheadArkansas will be central to Magrathea’s growth. Our goal is simple: produce clean, secure magnesium metal at commercial scale, right here in the United States, starting in Southwest Arkansas.
